Reda all about it as defender heads Wednesday into second place in promotion push

Wednesday moved into second place in the division one promotion chase with a single goal win over Leyton Orient at Hillsborough on Saturday.

Reda Johnson got our all-important strike after 19 minutes with an excellent downward header from a cross by Chris Lines. The defender had a second header disallowed for offside and the Owls went close on other occasions as they dominated the first half.

We continued to have the lion’s share of play in the second half without causing too many problems in the final third. Orient, who had hit the bar in the early stages with a Tom Clarke header, rallied late on and created one or two scares – but we took the points and that second place.

Wednesday now lie four points behind leaders Charlton and one ahead of third-placed Huddersfield and these two rivals have a game in hand … that being a showdown at the Valley on Monday night.
