Pulis ‘in talks with Wednesday’ over manager’s job

The possibility of Tony Pulis being appointed the next Wednesday manager looks to be strengthening.

Pulis was immediately made a front-runner for the job, in the eyes of the bookies, following Garry Monk’s dismissal on Monday evening and now reports are emerging that the former Stoke, Palace, West Brom and Middlesbrough boss has held preliminary talks with Wednesday.

Ironically, Pulis took over from Monk at Boro almost three years ago … after Middlesbrough beat us just before Christmas at Hillsborough, a defeat that also signalled the last game for Carlos Carvalhal,

The names of Nigel Pearson, Lee Johnson and Paul Cook are still being linked with the vacant job at S6 while former England manager Sven-Göran Eriksson was this evening reported as being interested in the role.

However, at this stage it is Pulis who appears to be the most likely candidate to be next to fill the Hillsborough hotseat, possibly in an initial arrangement until the end of the season.
