Pudil stays … Loovens leaves … Nuhiu offer

Daniel Pudil has signed a new one-year contract with Wednesday but club captain Glenn Loovens is to leave Hillsborough.

Pudil has shown improved form playing in a back three since Jos Luhukay took charge at the start of the year while Loovens, 34, who joined us in 2013, has rarely figured under the new boss and his departure is not a surprise.

Ross Wallace is another experienced player to exit S6, along with keeper Jake Kean, but Atdhe Nuhiu has been offered a new deal after turning in some much-improved performances following Luhukay’s appointment, although he has not yet put pen to paper.

Youngsters George Hirst, Sean Clare, Dan Wallis, Warren Clarke and Jack Hall have all also been offered new contracts but have not signed up at this time.

The loan deals for Frederico Venancio and Jacob Butterfield both end after Sunday’s season finale at home to Norwich. Venancio could well be offered the opportunity to join the Owls on a permanent basis but Butterfield is expected to return to his parent club, Derby.
