Pre-season friendlies fixture list revealed

Wednesday will play seven pre-season friendlies in preparation for life back in division one.

The first test is against Celtic in a behind closed doors match at our training camp in Wales on Wednesday July 7, kick-off 3pm, when we could face ex-Owls Liam Shaw and Osaze Urhoghide, who both joined the Scottish club in the summer.

The following Saturday sees us at National League North side Chester, ko 3pm, followed by opposition from the same division when we make the trip to Alfreton Town
on July 13, ko 7.30pm.

We take on neighbours Barnsley at Oakwell for a behind closed doors contest, ko 12 noon, on July 17 before another closed doors friendly at West Brom on the following Tuesday, ko 2pm.

We’re at S6 on Saturday July 24 for a closed doors friendly against National League Wrexham at Middlewood Road, ko 1pm, and finish the friendlies with a trip to Port Vale on July 27, ko 7.30pm.

Regarding the possibility of supporters attending friendlies not being played behind closed doors, some clubs are awaiting developments on Government guidelines before making final decisions.

Home supporters only will be allowed to attend the Chester fixture and Wednesday will provide updates on the remaining fixtures  as soon as information becomes clear.
