Positives and negatives says Carlos

Carlos Carvalhal took positives – and negatives – from Wednesday’s 3-2 win at Mansfield.

The head coach said: “We started amazingly in the first 25 minutes, with a very good dynamic, a dynamic that we want to play with and we did very well. We scored a goal and had three or four other chances to score more.”

Carvalhal said after that, David Jones and Barry Bannan dropped too close to our defenders and we lost a little control of the midfield.

He added: “I didn’t like the second half too much and we must do better. However, I understand that we had some players coming back from injuries and it is their first game.”

Carvalhal was also unhappy to concede two goals from set pieces but was pleased with scoring three more goals, taking our tally to eight in the first two pre-season matches.

Summing up, he said: “There were a Lot of positive things and, of course, negative things that we must correct in the next games.”
