Palmer poised for call-up to Scotland squad

Scotland boss Alex McLeish is expected to name Liam Palmer in his squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers.

McLeish is ready to call up Palmer for the games against Kazakhstan and San Marino and this will be reward for the full back’s much-improved performances in recent months.

Palmer, who made eight appearances for Scotland at under-21 level, is now 27 and is enjoying arguably his best season with Wednesday after joining us as a youngster. He was born in Worksop but qualifies to play for Scotland through his late grandmother who was born in Carluke.

McLeish will confirm his squad at Tuesday lunchtime and Scotland play Kazakhstan on Thursday week before takingĀ  on San Marino on the following Sunday.
