Palmer 50-50 for Deepdale clash

Wednesday wait on the fitness of Liam Palmer ahead of Saturday’s trip to Preston.

Palmer missed the midweek win over Luton because of back spasms and Lee Bullen said that he has a 50-50 chance of making the Deepdale game, with the defender having a further assessment after training on Friday.

Morgan Fox is expected to continue as his replacement if Palmer fails to recover in time.

Wednesday have no new injury worries and Bullen can be expected to stick largely with the squad that faced Luton, although Kieran Lee could come back into the starting line-up reckoning while Dominic Iorfa, Joey Pelupessy and Atdhe Nuhiu will all be hoping to make the 18 after missing altogether against the Hatters.

We go into the game with three wins out of four while Preston have won both their home matches in the Championship this season.

Looking at the record books, we have won just one of our last 21 league games at Deepdale, the only victory coming in a 2-0 win in League One in December 2011.
