Pair eye first team after international break

Jos Luhukay is hoping that injured pair Fernando Forestieri and Marco Matias will be fit to return to action after the international break later this month.

Both players are sidelined with hamstring problems but Matias was back in full training on Friday and Luhukay hopes Forestieri will be joining him in the near future.

Sam Winnall continues his recuperation, also from a hamstring injury suffered in a comeback game for the under-23s last month, and it could be nearer Christmas-time before he is ready to return.

Meanwhile, defender Joost van Aken is expected to play for the under-23s at Bolton on Monday evening as he steps up his bid for full fitness following a long-term ankle problem.

Luhukay has also indicated that Kieran Lee, who has not played for the first team for almost a year, may need surgery following the knee problem he sustained in a match for the under-23s in September.
