Wednesday’s under-18s went through to the FA Youth Cup fourth round this evening with an excellent 1-0 win over Southampton at a rain-lashed St Mary’s.
Bailey Cadamarteri scored the only goal late on, racing through before curling a cracking shot across the Southampton keeper and into the far corner of the net from just inside the box.
We almost gifted the home side an equaliser in the dying minutes with a poor defensive header but thankfully the Southampton striker shot wide, ensuring a place in round four for a Wednesday side who were very much the underdogs.
