Wednesday should hear soon if Fernando Forestieri will face any punishment following his part in the brawl at the end of our pre-season friendly at Mansfield.
Reports indicate that the Football Association’s disciplinary committee will deliver its verdict in the near future after investigating the melee which broke out on the final whistle. It involved most of the players from both sides, with allegations at the time that Forestieri had made racist remarks to Mansfield player Krystian Pearce.
If the decision goes against him, then Forestieri could face a suspension and fine.
Mansfield’s Jacob Mellis will also have come under the FA spotlight after footage and photos appeared to show him attacking Tom Lees in the incident.
