Owls ‘set to appoint Carlos as head coach’

Carlos Carvalhal looks to be on the verge of being appointed as the new head coach at Hillsborough.

Reports indicate that Wednesday are poised to make the announcement, after days of speculation, and Swindon boss Mark Cooper could join the Portuguese coach as his assistant.

Carvalhal, who would be our first non-British manager, has not taken charge of a club for three years but has been technical director for Al Ahli in the United Arab Emirates for the past two seasons. His previous clubs as a manager include Sporting Lisbon, Braga and Besiktas.
