Owls seal double loan deal with Newcastle

Newcastle pair Achraf Lazaar and Rolando Aarons have completed transfer deadline day loan moves to Wednesday.

They became Steve Bruce’s second and third signings of his first day at Hillsborough, following on from the permanent transfer of right back Dominic Iorfa from Wolves.

Moroccan-born Lazaar, 27, is a left-back who has made just 10 appearances for Newcastle since signing for them in a five-year deal from Palermo in 2016. He spent last season on loan at Italian club side, Benevento, who were relegated from Serie A at the end of the campaign.

Twenty-three-year-old Aarons, pictured above, is a left winger who joined Newcastle as a youngster in 2012 and has made 27 appearances since 2014.

He is Jamaica-born but has played for the England under-20s.
