Owls pegged back after flying start

Wednesday had to settle for a point after taking an early lead against Ipswich at Hillsborough on Tuesday evening.

Atdhe Nuhiu’s sixth minute near post header gave us a great start and we were on the mark again 18 minutes later, only for Kamil Zayatte’s header to be ruled out for a foul.

Ipswich came more tnto the game as the half wore on and twice went close with headers.

Wednesday had the ball in the net again soon after half-time but Nuhiu was ruled offside and the visitors equaliser on the hour when sub Jonny Williams fired home via an upright … with Wednesday appealing that he had handled the ball in the build-up.

Wednesday failed to sustain any period of pressure after that, while Ipswich looked dangerous at times, and a draw was probably a fair result after a closely-fought 90 minutes.
