Slovenian trialist defender Dejan Kelhar has been offered a short-term deal at Hillsborough.
Stuart Gray said after the 1-1 draw with Barnsley: “I’ve been impressed with Dejan and we’ve offered him a short term contract. It’s in his hands now.”
Kelhar, 30, who played 45 minutes against Newcastle in midweek, missed the Barnsley game as he has briefly returned to his home country.
Gray also confirmed that he is hoping to sign a striker ahead of the Championship kick off at Brighton next Saturday and has one particular target in mind.
He said: “Everybody knows we want a striker in the building. We are waiting on one and should have an answer on Monday or Tuesday morning.”
