Wednesday have been drawn with Burton Albion and Bradford City in Group H of next season’s Papa John’s Trophy.
A Premier League under-21 side will complete the group, with youngsters from one of Everton, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle or Wolves facing the Owls.
The remainder of the draw will be made live on Sky Sports News at 11.30am on Thursday.
The Carabao Cup first round draw is also live on Sky Sports News, at 2.30pm on the same day, with Wednesday ball number 29.
Before the two cup draws, Wednesday’s full League One fixture list for the season will be released at 9am on Thursday.
