Owls held in tame home draw

Wednesday were left still searching for a first Championship win of the season after a disappointing 1-1 home draw with QPR.

Jamie Mackie put Rangers ahead midway through the first half while Daniel Pudil, Jordan Rhodes and Sam Winnall all missed good opportunities in a largely lacklustre opening 45 minutes for the Owls.

Sam Winnall put us back in the game when he drilled home three minutes after the restart and Wednesday then enjoyed our best spell in the next 15 minutes but Rhodes missed another great chance and we then had a penalty claim for handball turned down.

However, we lost that attacking impetus almost as quickly as we had found it and the game drifted to a draw, Rangers almost grabbing a late winner through Kazenga LuaLua.

The draw leaves us on 17th place with one point from two games.
