The sellout Wednesday contingent at Mansfield on Saturday could see a stronger line-up than the squad that won 5-0 at Alfreton in our midweek pre-season opener.
Established first teamers in Fernando Forestieri, Steven Fletcher, Glenn Loovens, Ross Wallace and Almen Abdi were amongst those missing at Alfreton and Carlos Carvalhal has confirmed at least some of these players could be in action at Mansfield. Keiren Westwood and Kieran Lee were also absent.
The head coach said: “All of these were with precaution and nothing serious.
“It was just the first game of pre-season and any players with small pains can become a problem if we don’t protect them, so we decided to not take any kind of risk.
“But we believe some of them will be involved on Saturday.”
