Wednesday battled their way to a point in a goalless derby at rain-lashed Bramall Lane on Friday night.
Sheff U dominated the game, particularly in the first half, but we showed more defensive organisation and fighting spirit than in recent weeks … and got our first clean sheet of the season into the bargain.
Caneron Dawson pulled off an excellent penalty save from McGoldrick in the 15th minute after Morgan Fox had fouled Duffy.
Minutes earlier, Fox had missed a great chance – our only opening of the first half – but he fired over from close range.
it was a similar story of home pressure after the break but we managed to limit Sheff U’s dangerous attacks from wide in the second period and created one or two opportunities at the other end.
And it was man-of-the-match Dawson who had the final say when he saved Norwood’s last-minute free kick.
