Owls drop out of play-off places as rivals win

Wednesday slipped out of the division one play-off places tonight.

With ourselves not playing in midweek, rivals Sunderland and Plymouth both won to leapfrog us and push Wednesday down to eighth.

We sit on 61 points from 35 games, behind seventh-placed Wycombe on goal difference but with a match in hand.

Sunderland are now in fifth on 63 points but having played two more games than ourselves while Plymouth sit in sixth with 62 points and on the same number of matches as ourselves.

MK Dons moved level on 72 points with second-placed Wigan after another win while Ipswich (played 37 on 59 points) and Portsmouth (played 35 on 57 points) both had victories to keep up their outside chances of making the play-offs.
