Owls continue to be linked with Paterson

Reports continue to suggest Wednesday want to bring Cardiff City’s Callum Paterson to Hillsborough.

Paterson has lost his place in the Welsh club’s starting line-up since the start of this season and we are said to be interested in signing the 25-year-old, who was moved by former City boss Neil Warnock into midfield from defence and, in more recent times, has played up front.

He began his career at Hearts, scoring 38 goals in 158 appearances, before signing for Cardiff in 2017, where he has netted 21 times in 106 games.

Garry Monk has made no secret of his desire to further strengthen our attacking options and when asked about Paterson at today’s press conference, the Owls boss said: “We’re going to be linked with everyone. We’re talking to a number of people and seeing where we can get with them.”
