Owls come so close to their first victory of the season

Brighton & Hove Albion

Matty Fryatt’s first goal for the Owls saw them come so close to their first victory of the season only for Brighton & Hove Albion to level the scoreline with minutes to spare.

Fryatt, making his first start for the Owls, put the away side 1-0 up in the 43rd minute of the first half and despite pressure from the home side for much of the second half it looked like Wednesday may have been taking all three points.

However with only two minutes of normal time to go, Brighton’s pressure became too much and they were able to equalise through Keith Andrews in the 89th minute.

The first half was a pretty even affair with the home side creating the better of the chances but unable to capitalise leading to the Owls taking the lead just before half time.

And it was a similar pattern to the second half with many chances for Brighton which they were unable to take any of. Wednesday too had a great spell in the second half which could have seen them increase their lead, however were unable to turn pressure into efforts on goal.
