Owls clinch points in injury-time drama

Two injury-time goals gave Wednesday a remarkable 3-2 victory in a dramatic end to the South Yorshire derby at Rotherham today.

The home side looked to have secured the points when Jordan Bowery scored with three minutes of normal time remaining to put them 2-1 up. However, Atdhe Nuhiu’s header levelled matters three minutes into added time and then Kieran Lee fired home to clinch the points for Wednesday in the 98th minute.

Caolan Lavery had converted Lewis McGugan’s cross with a diving header on 86 minutes to equalise Ben Pringle’s 57th minute opener, only for Bowery to put the Millers back in front almost immediately.

Then came Wednesday’s late, late fightback to seal an unlikely win … after managing just one shot on target before Lavery’s first equaliser.

Victory keeps the Owls in 12th place on 53 points.
