Out of play-offs for first time in four months

Wednesday have dropped out of the play-off places for the first time since December as our worrying run of form stretched to just one win in seven after an injury time equaliser for Barnsley at Oakwell.

With Fulham then winning at Rotherham, they move above us by one point and with a vastly superior goal difference.

We looked to have secured our first win in four games when Sam Winnall turned the ball home on 50 minutes after Adam Reach forced home keeper Adam Davies into an error.

Winnall appeared to have made it two a few minutes later but saw his sharp close-range effort ruled out for offside.

At that stage, Wednesday seemed capable of scoring again, but we allowed the home side to gradually get a foothold back into the game and Angus MacDonald eventually powered home a 93rd minute header to secure Barnsley a point.

Worse could have followed as Keiren Westwood dived full length to keep out a George Moncur effort and then Morgan Fox headed Adam Hamill’s curler off the line with Westwood beaten as the Reds pushed for a winner.
