One point from 18 after latest defeat

Wednesday sit just three points off the relegation places after another home defeat – this time 2-1 to promotion-chasing Derby.

It means we’have taken just one point from the last six games and are still looking for our first home victory since August.

With Fernando Forestieri and Marco Matias fit to return to the starting line-up, we began the game in attacking mood and, after Tom Lees saw a header cleared off the line, Adam Reach fired us in front with an excellent angled drive on 12 minutes.

However, the visitors gradually found their feet and turned the game on its head inside five minutes around the half-hour mark.

Both goals came from slack defending, Harry Wilson given space to shoot home at the far post and then Jack Marriott took advantage of hesitancy at the back to finish clinically past Cameron Dawson.

Marriott almost made it three before the break when he rattled the crossbsr.

We found it tough to create openings after the break but missed two great chances to equalise.

Forestieri was played through but shot wide when he should have found the target and then Morgan Fox headed against the post when he looked sure to net.

The defeat leaves us in 18th place on 20 points.
