O’Grady on target as Owls win at last …

A disputed first-half goal from Chris O’Grady against fellow strugglers Barnsley saw Wednesday end a run of seven successive defeats this evening.

O’Grady turned the ball home from close range after Gary Madine looked to have fouled home keeper Luke Steele in an aerial challenge.

The second half saw us soaking up almost constant pressure, with Davd Prutton clearing one of several Barnsley efforts off the line, and we held on for a long-awaited three points that could prove crucial in the fight to move away from the foot of the Championship table.
