James O’Connor is reported to be ready to leave Hillsborough for a coaching role in the United States.
The midfielder is said to be lined up to join an unnamed side in Major League Soccer and is expected to leave the club in the next few days.
He has been a regular this season but has missed the last three games through injury and is out of contract in the summer. O’Connor, 32, has played more than 120 games for the Owls after signing on a free transfer from Burnley in the summer of 2008.
