Now it’s ‘must-win’ time for us says Bruce

Steve Bruce believes Wednesday have reached ‘must-win’ time in our remaining seven games to have a chance of grabbing a play-off place.

With home games against play-off chasing pair Villa and then Forest on Tuesday evening, followed by a trip to second-placed Leeds next Saturday, Bruce has highlighted the significance of the next seven days as the Owls look to stretch our 12-match unbeaten run and keep those outside play-off hopes alive.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s game with Villa, who sacked him earlier in the season, Bruce said: “Three games in a week, it will be defining and it’s all to play for – fantastic.

“I think all of the games are must win now, if we’re realistic with the teams we are playing, I think we need to win them all.”

Bruce added: “Unfortunately, we are running out of games. We have still got a chance but I’ve said all along, it’s only a small one. We must try and keep on going and you never know.

“There are a lot of teams competing for two places, if we’re being realistic, and this is the tickly bit and we’ll see all sorts of results.”

Villa come to Hillsborough with five successive wins lifting them into sixth place and four points ahead of ourselves.
