No way, Jose, as FA turn down red card appeal

Jose Semedo will have to sit out the next three games after failing in his appeal against the red card at Bolton on Saturday.

Semedo, who has been recalled to the first team squad in recent weeks and had his most influential game of the season at the Reebok, left the field in tears after being dismissed late on for a challenge on Jay Spearing.

Dave Jones led Wednesday’s protests over the sending off, claiming it was a fair tackle, but the club’s appeal was today dismissed by the FA.

It means Semedo will miss Saturday’s trip to Barnsley, followed by the home game with Reading and the match at Derby.
