No injury talk for Carlos before Rams game

Carlos Carvalhal was keeping tight-lipped today about the injury situation at Hillsborough as Wednesday prepare for Sunday’s televised home game with Derby.

Tom Lees looks the most serious doubt after limping off at Stoke in midweek and is reportedly struggling with a hamstring problem. Jack Hunt was substituted at half-time in the same game after suffering a calf injury and Glenn Loovens, Sam Hutchinson, Ross Wallace and Rhoys Wiggins all took knocks in the cup tie.

However, Carvalhal said he didn’t want to discuss injuries, adding: “We will play with 11 players who will be fit, ready and confident and with seven players outside ready to help the team.

“We will also play in the environment we like – at Hillsborough – and with the support of our massive fans. We are looking forward to the game.”

Fernando Forestieri is expected to return after being cup-tied at Stoke and Carvalhal will also be hoping that Keiren Westwood and Barry Bannan are fit for selection after their injury problems.

If Lees is ruled out, then Carvalhal could continue to use Daniel Pudil in a central defensive position – as he did following the injury to Lees on Tuesday night.
