No goals, and little else, in S6 stalemate

Wednesday took a point in a largely uninspiring goalless draw with Millwall at Hillsborough this afternoon.

In a game of few chances, our best opportunity came shortly before half time when Adam Reach glanced a near post header across goal but just wide.

We had a decent spell of pressure soon after the interval but rarely troubled Bartosz Bialkowski in the Millwall goal and the only other highlight was the introduction of loanee striker Alessio Da Cruz, who looked lively when he came on midway through the second half.

Millwall posed few problems at the other end but almost grabbed all three points in added time, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson breaking clear of the Wednesday defence and lobbing the ball over Cameron Dawson but, thankfully,  clearing the crossbar as well.

Both sides mustered just two efforts apiece on target and the draw sees us in 11th place on 43 points, slipping to seven adrift of Bristol City in the final play-off spot.

Dawson, Palmer, Iorfa, Börner, Odubajo, Murphy (Da Cruz 67), Bannan, Pelupessy, Harris (Forestieri 56), Reach, Nuhiu. Unused subs. Wildsmith, Urhoghide, Lees, Hunt, Winnall. Attendance: 23,052.
