Nine without a win and Owls drop to one off bottom

A Blackburn goal after just five minutes stretched Wednesday’s league run without a win to nine games and saw us drop to just one place off the bottom on goal difference.
Grant Hanley’s early effort was enough to give the home side the points. Wednesday deserved at least a draw in terms of possession in the second half but failed to test Paul Robinson sufficiently despite our dominance.
Jay Bothroyd and Andrew Gardner both missed the game through injury, with Gary Madine and Martin Taylor called up as replacements, while Jermaine Johnson was also in the starting line-up.
