Moore: We need that all-important win

Darren Moore took the positives from Wednesday’s 2-1 loss to league leaders Norwich at Hillsborough today, a seventh defeat in a row which sees us another step closer to relegation from the Championship.

Moore, still searching for a first point after three games in charge at S6, saw Wednesday produce a decent first 45 minutes to lead 1-0 at the interval, before the visitors stepped up a gear or two and ran out winners.

The Owls boss said afterwards: “We have to keep believing, we really do, there is no other way. I have just said to the players now, you’ve gone head-to-head with the best team in the division and you’ve been beaten by fine margins.”

He added: “We need that all-important win and when we get that build from there. The players are working hard and have to keep going.

“It was a lot better performance, we started really well on the front foot and used the ball well. They put us on the back foot second half.”

We still sit seven points from safety, with 11 games to play and the next one at home to Huddersfield on Wednesday evening. Moore said: “We have double figure games to go, we have a lot to play for and that belief must be there.

“We have to look forward, we have a huge game on Wednesday night against Huddersfield and that’s where our focus must be.”
