Moore reflects on missed chances

Darren Moore spoke of missed chances as Wednesday failed to regain our play-off spot in a tame 1-1 home draw with Accrington.

The Owls boss said: “I’m a little bit disappointed. There’s lots to learn tonight. Big chances went begging.

”I’m just disappointed we didn’t come away with all three points.”

He added: “We needed to take some of those first-half chances.

“Then it’s about concentration when you’re leading. It was a scruffy goal to concede but we have to move on.”

He added: “We’ve seen football is unpredictable, like it was tonight. When you expect a certain result you have to go and earn the right to win.

“We have to overcome these types of obstacles.”

Reflecting on subbing Barry Bannan after 72 minutes and with Wednesday winning 1-0, Moore said he did so because he wanted to freshen things up.

Lewis Gibson missed the game, having taken a knock.
