Moore: Now we need to keep momentum going

Darren Moore says he wants more of the same after seeing his Wednesday side defeat Sunderland 3-0 at S6 tonight.

The Owls boss commented: “I said to the boys that’s the type of performance we want to put in. We are pleased to get the win and have to keep that momentum going.

“I told them to stay disciplined at half time. We got the third goal and we were excellent in and out of possession.

“It was more of a complete performance. The players also did the ugly side of the game and I am really pleased for the fans to see that performance.

“Everyone played their part tonight.”

He also praised strikers Theo Corbeanu and Florian Kamberi, saying: “Theo was good. He took his goal really well and knew what he was going to do.

“Florian was excellent tonight and showed lots of energy. I thought he led the line well, caused them problems, his link up play was superb and he was a constant threat.”

Moore said Barry Bannan was forced off with a foot injury in the second half and they will see how he is later in the week while the Owls boss also confirmed that former Cardiff and Middlesbrough winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has been training with Wednesday.
