Moore: It’s about creating that togetherness

Darren Moore talked of creating a spirit and togetherness at Hillsborough after tonight’s 1-0 win over Wigan took us to the verge of the division one play-off places.

He said: “It has been about a oneness and togetherness. We are all committed to it and we are Wednesday here.

“We wanted to bring solidity and a winning ethic and spirit here and it is not just the team. It is everybody. Our supporters are the 12th man. They drive the team on.

“There is still a lot of work to be done. We know there are a lot more challenges ahead of us and we have to keep going. My message to the supporters is to keep driving us on.”

Reflecting on tonight’s performance, he said: “It was a good three points. We used the ball well and we created some chances.

“We knew we had to take the game to them tonight. They are a good team, we knew we had to be at our level best and the boys were tonight.”

Looking ahead, Moore said: “We can only approach it one game at a time and we have to keep building and trying to raise the standard. We keep driving that in training and we don’t get too far ahead of ourselves.”
