Monk: It’s nowhere near good enough

Garry Monk said he will continue to fight to help turn around Wednesday’s worrying run of one win in nine league games.

Speaking after the 1-0 defeat at Luton on Wednesday evening, Monk said: “This period of games has been nowhere near good enough and the results aren’t good enough, I’m totally aware of that and obviously I’m fully responsible for that.

“I’ve tried a few things in this period and it hasn’t worked but I’m a fighter. I’ve always fought my whole career and life, so I’ll continue to do that for this club.”

He added: ““We all have to do better because right now it’s not good enough. I am the manager of this team and this club and it’s my responsibility.

“We are letting ourselves down and our fans down. We are committing schoolboy errors, they are costing us very dearly and it just isn’t good enough.”
