Mendez-Laing to miss Rovers clash

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing will miss Wednesday’s trip to Doncaster tomorrow … and Sam Hutchinson is only 50-50 for the game.

Mendez-Laing took a knock late in the match against Rotherham on Sunday and was subbed while Hutchinson has also suffered a knock and faces a late test.

The injury to Mendez-Laing is yet another blow to Wednesday with Darren Moore saying today: “We’ll give him the weekend and see how he is. Potentially, it could be weeks or it could be a shorter spell.”

Moore also confirmed that none of our other injured players will be available for the game against his former club.

The absence of Mendez-Laing means a likely starting place for one of Florian Kamberi, Sylla Sow or Saido Berahino while Ciaran Brennan may well step in for Hutchinson if he fails to recover in time.

We go into the match in eighth place and just one point adrift of the play-off positions.

Doncaster sit one off the bottom and six points from safety.
