Loan keeper Damian Martinez has said he would be keen to extend his stay at Hillsborough … leaving a possible question mark over Chris Kirkland’s S6 future.
Reports say that Martinez has enjoyed his time with the Owls and that his parent club, Arsenal, have indicated they would also be happy for him to continue his spell with Wednesday.
The keeper’s loan was due to run out at the end of the year but he has now forced his way into the first team, ousting regular Kirkland, and if Martinez does extend his time at the club then Kirkland could be left pondering a move away from Wednesday.
At this stage of his career, Kirkland will be wanting regular first team football and, with the January transfer window coming up, there may well be interest from other clubs.
