Mandaric close to making decision on new manager

Milan Mandaric says he will make a decision on the vacant manager’s job after the next game or two.

Mandaric continues to be impressed overall with caretaker boss Stuart Gray, particularly given the injury list he has had to contend with, and said if there had been a big problem under his stewardship then he would have accelerated the search for a different person.

He added that he is likely to move forward on appointing a new boss either after the Blackpool game on New Year’s Day or following next Saturday’s FA Cup tie at Macclesfield.

The chairman also played down a national media report which today linked Wednesday with a possible new investment, to include Paul Ince as manager, Mandaric saying there is nothing else to report on such matters at this time.
