Chris Maguire’s 39th minute penalty was enough to give Wednesday a much-needed three points at home to bottom club Blackpool this afternoon.
Maguire fired home after Stevie May was fouled in the box to ensure the Owls registered only a third home league win in 12 games, taking us up to 12th spot in the table – with Wolves still to play in the late game at Watford.
We missed opportunities to deliver a more convincing victory, particularly in the second half, and at the other end Keiren Westwood pulled off an outstanding save from Ishmael Miller after the break.
