Gary Madine has joined former club Carlisle United on loan until the end of the season.
Madine, who was recently released from prison after being sentenced to 18 months in jail for assault, has been regaining his fitness by playing in the Owls under-21s.
However, his chances of breaking into the senior side are slim at present and Stuart Gray has been keen to help get him regular first team action elsewhere.
Division one Carlisle will offer him that opportunity – at the club where he made his name before signing for Wednesday.
