Jos Luhukay believes there were positives to take out of Wednesday’s 4-2 defeat at QPR on Tuesday evening … after a defensive horror show saw us three goals down inside the opening quarter of an hour.
The Owls manager said: “The first 15 minutes we were not in the game.
“They began with a lot of aggression, we did not defend the crosses and those first 15 minutes cost us the game.”
However, Luhukay felt the team fought back well, saying: “After that first 15 minutes we came back into the game. It could have been 3-1 or 3-2 in the first half and on the ball we were good.”
He said he had no explanation for the dreadful opening spell but added: “We came back after that and the team gave everything.”
Luhukay also said the early goals conceded had nothing to do with a change of system or tactics, commenting: “You must block the crosses and defend well in the 18-yard box.”
