Loanees set for debuts … Owls aim for second … biggest game for years says Gary

Wednesday have the chance to move up iinto second place in the table when they take on Leyton Orient at S6 on Saturday.

With leaders Charlton facing nearest challengers Huddersfield on Monday night, the Owls know that victory against Orient will lift us one place into the automatic promotion places for at least 48 hours.

New loan signings Sanchez Watt, Miguel Liera and James Tavernier are all in contention to play but Gary Megson knows he can only choose five of our current six loanees in the squad for tomorrow – the others being Stephen Bywater, Ben Marshall and Danny Batth

And Megson has underlined the importance of the Orient game, saying: “This game is Sheffield Wednesday’s biggest game for a long, long time – it is huge for us.

“If we can win this one, the two teams above us are playing each other on Monday night so only good things can happen. We really need to win from that point of view so everybody needs to focus on Leyton Orient and nowhere else.”

Gary Madine (toe) and Lewis Buxton (hamstring) are both out through injury while skipper Rob Jones serves a one-match ban for five bookings
