Lewis Baker has got himself on the fans’ side even before he has kicked a competitive ball for the Owls … revealing that his dad is from Sheffield and is a Wednesdayite.
Reflecting on the move, Baker said it is his first loan spell away from Stamford Bridge and added: “I got a call to say Sheffield Wednesday were interested in me and I wanted to come because this is a great club with great tradition. I’m sure everyone will make me feel very welcome.”
Stuart Gray revealed that his friendship with Chelsea assistant, Steve Holland, helped in Wednesday sealing the deal, despite interest from other clubs, and added that Chelsea had also been impressed with how we handled the Sam Hutchinson situation last season.
