Derby midfielder Jacob Butterfield has joined Wednesday on a season-long loan, with Sam Winnall going in the other direction in a late evening deal on transfer deadline day.
Butterfield, 27, joined Derby from Huddersfield in September 2015 for £5m.
Winnall only signed for us in January, in a reported £500,000 transfer from Barnsley. The 26-year-old has scored four goals in 18 appearances for the Owls but has struggled to hold down a regular first-team place in the face of stern competition for the striking roles at S6.
