Lita has operation after fracturing cheekbone

Leroy Lita

Leroy Lita suffered a fractured cheekbone after his second-half clash with Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson.

Lita headed narrowly wide five minutes from time as he latched on to a through ball but, in doing so, collided with Gibson. A Boro’ defender immediately called for on-field treatment for Lita and, while he recovered after a few minutes, the striker was replaced by Chris Maguire.

Now Lita has tweeted that he suffered a cheekbone fracture, which required an operation, and added ‘Operation done and feeling better already. The massive were great for us again yesterday. Thank you all, you’ve been amazing.’

Lita has been on loan from Premier League Swansea since January and we wait to see if he returns to S6 next season on a permanent basis.
