Lee misses last league visit to Griffin Park

Kieran Lee is ruled out of tomorrow’s trip to Brentford after limping off with a groin strain against Manchester City in midweek.

Julian Borner was another injury victim in the cup tie, being forced off at half time with a hamstring problem, but he is expected to be available for selection for our last-ever league game at Griffin Park, before the Bees move to their nearby new ground for the start of next season.

Garry Monk will have Josh Windass and Connor Wickham available again after they were both cup-tied for the City game and Windass could well get a start after impressing – and scoring – when he came on as a substitute for the second half against Derby last Saturday.

Youngster Alex Hunt, who did well after replacing Lee during the cup tie, will be in Monk’s thoughts in terms of being a possible starter and the Owls boss has to decide whether to recall Cameron Dawson in goal or stick with Joe Wildsmith, who played his first game in the first team since August 2018 against City.

Steven Fletcher, back recently from long-term injury, may be in the starting line-up after lasting 45 minutes against Derby and then appearing from early in the second half in midweek.

Massimo Luongo and ex-Bees man Moses Odubajo both returned to training this week after their injuries.

We go into the game in 12th spot on 48 points, eight behind the play-offs and 10 ahead of the relegation places, also seeking only a third win in 14 league games.

Fifth-placed Brentford are in a poor run of results as well, failing to win in their last five matches in a spell which has seen them slip to 11 points behind Leeds in second place.
