Lee hails ‘fantastic team performance’

Lee Bullen was full of praise for the all-round team display that saw us chalk up an opening day 3-1 win at Reading.

The caretaker boss, who took the plaudits form the sellout Wednesday contingent on the final whistle, said: “I’m delighted with the win and delighted with the performance. We’ve had a late blow there with the red card but they all dug deep to not only hold firm at the back but also get a third goal at the other end.

“We deserved it, they all deserved it because from front to back it was a fantastic team performance.”

Reflecting on Keiren Westwood’s late red card for a foul on Mo Barrow, Bullen said he will look at the video before deciding on any possible appeal.

He added: “It was a nervy ending for sure but I thought the lads dug deep and really showed their character to hold out for the win.”
