Kirkland talks about his future with Wednesday

Chris Kirkland has indicated that his future could be at Hillsborough when his contract runs out at the end of the season.

The keeper, wno also talked about his disappointment at being dropped by previous manager Dave Jones, said: “I would love to stay but now is not the right time to talk about it … we need to get points on the board and make sure we are safe.

“Hopefully, once we get to where we want to get to I’m sure we will sit down and talk.”

Talking of loanee Roger Johnson’s move to Premier League West Ham, Kirkland said: “It’s a huge blow for us … but it’s something he couldn’t turn down.

“I can’t speak highly enough of him during his time with the club, he gets on well with the lads here and he will be a big miss.”
