Kirkland attacker gets four months jail

The Leeds fan who invaded the pitch at Hillsborough on Friday night and assaulted Wednesday keeper Chris Kirkland has been jailed for 16 weeks.

Aaron Cawley, 21, of Blenheim Square, Cheltenham pleaded guilty to common assault and entering the field of play when he appeared before Sheffield magistrates.

The court was told that Cawley has already been issued with two Football Banning orders and Cawley said he was drunk when he carried out the attack.
